A masterclass in form and tension. This hand-cast sculpture captures a moment of pure aspiration, featuring a powerful winged figure poised for flight atop a rugged, stone-textured base. Finished in a timeless weathered bronze with verdigris accents, it serves as a striking symbol of freedom and the enduring human spirit.
Unlike a simple coat of paint, this finish is achieved through a multi-stage layering process designed to give the sculpture depth and a sense of age:
Deep Toning: A dark base layer is applied to settle into the recessed areas of the sculpture. This creates natural shadows in the fur and the deep crevices, providing immediate anatomical “weight.”
Metallic Bronzing: High points and muscular ridges are hand-rubbed with a rich bronze pigment. This captures the light, giving the piece the cold, heavy appearance of a traditional foundry casting while remaining a unique, hand-worked original.
