Working from his small studio overlooking the coast, Carl creates each original piece by hand, using a blend of traditional sculpting methods and modern casting techniques. His focus is on creating collectible keepsakes — art that’s small enough to travel with, yet personal and lasting enough to be treasured for years.
Each sculpture is individually cast, hand-painted, and boxed with care, reflecting Carl’s belief that art should be accessible, meaningful, and rooted in honesty. His Baby African Wildlife Collection — a set of miniature sculptures — has become known for its craftsmanship, charm, and authenticity.
Carl’s background in programming, design, and product development has shaped his practical, problem-solving approach to artmaking. What began as a small experiment in moulding and materials has grown into a quiet passion for sculpting pieces that carry a sense of place, memory, and heart.

He continues to work from Hermanus, producing limited runs of his sculptures for local galleries, guesthouses, and travellers seeking something uniquely South African.
